POSITION SUMMARY:   The Treatment Director / Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor interacts with the residents, families, visitors, other facility staff, and community agencies during the admission and discharge to the Chemical Dependency Licensed Treatment Facility.  

 

JOB DUTIES: Visiting 1:1 with residents and communicating with staff, families, and community agencies as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary patient care chemical dependency treatment planning. They are responsible to market the services we provide and establish relationships with all referral sources. As a member of the interdisciplinary care planning team, they help to identify the initial services plan, comprehensive assessment and summary, service discharge summary, and provide for individual and group chemical dependency treatment counseling, including residents with co-occurring disorders.  They clarify a range of legal documents for residents and families including the service initiation and termination agreements according to policy.  They provide for individual and group chemical dependency counseling, including co-occurring mental health disorders. The Treatment Director/ Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor position develops policies and procedures manual for Chemical Dependency Treatment licensure, determines staff requirements and qualifications, and supervises chemical dependency personnel according to policy requirements. This position is also responsible to develop and maintain a quality improvement plan for the Chemical Dependency Licensed Treatment Facility.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the State of Minnesota.  At least three years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder. Have a baccalaureate degree, or three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services field.    Must recognize and understand the psychosocial and emotional needs of residents.  Position requires strong skills in communication, organization, management and leadership.  Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.  Must be free from problematic substance use as a condition of employment. Must qualify for employment after a criminal background study, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
