Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for scheduling of the nursing staff and assisting the nursing department in facilitating information and documentation changes. This position will act as a receptionist in answering telephones and directing phone calls as appropriate. The Staffing/Health Information Coordinator will maintain medical records for the residents during their stay.

Job Duties: 

The Staffing/Health Information Coordinator is responsible for the completion and on-going maintenance of hours worked by all nursing personnel required to meet budgeting and staffing guidelines. This position must work closely with nursing administration to facilitate a schedule which will meet the needs of the residents and keep within the budgeted hours. Also, this person will communicate with the HR Director to assure accuracy in replacements, trades or other changes that require adjustment of the schedule. The Staffing/Health Information Coordinators is also responsible for maintaining clinical records on each resident consistent with the medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care delivery system. Maintaining records that are accurate, systematically organized, complete and readily accessible is essential.

 

Qualifications: 

Must have at least a High School diploma; prefer Tech College graduate. Knowledge of computer skills necessary. Previous experience in long-term care and medical terminology preferred. Must be organized and able to work independently. Requires good working relationship and communication with all staff, residents, families, physicians and visitors. Must be able to read and write English in order to properly establish scheduling patterns. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
