The cook Prepares, serves, and is responsible for the preparation of foods for tenants, guests and employees and enhances food service standards through cost, quality and quantity controls. Provides meal service that meets the desires of the tenant, by allowing as much choice as possible and giving food service that preserves the element of personal dignity.


Follows the Established Menu and standardized recipes to prepare cook and serve nutritional meals for the tenants in an appealing manner. Trains new dietary personnel as necessary. Supervises the dietary department in the absence of the director. Complies with regulations and facility policies pertaining to dietary department.


Has a desire and commitment to work with senior tenants and families and understand their special needs. Must be able to follow directions, cooperate with co-workers and perform assigned tasks. Required to communicate clearly with tenants, families and staff and follow supervisor directions. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
